Haere Mai

Ko Mark Lang toku ingoa, Ko Ngapuhi toku iwi, Ko Ngati Horahia toku hapu.

Haere mai and welcome to the Tika Pono Toi Gallery & Studio. This Māori carving business was created as a result of my journey delving into the spiritual aspects of Toi Whakairo, enhancing my mana and mauri to be able to preserve the Taonga and promote creative well-being for the betterment of our communities.

Read the NZ Herald article here:

"We had the absolute privilege of having the incredibly talented Māori carving artist Mark Lang Tika Pono Toi, design and hand carve an exquisite Taonga for us in honour of our daughter on her recent 21st milestone. Within every detail Mark took us on a spiritual journey through his craft and creativity which encompasses our whakapapa and connection to Kaitiaki, Wairua and Whanau. We are truly humbled and grateful to have received this beautiful taonga, and wish Mark every success in his upcoming studio/gallery grand opening on the 23rd September"

“A viewing at the new Tika Pono Toi gallery in Dargaville is a must do for anyone visiting the area! Mark has an incredible skill and eye for detail which can be seen in each of his Māori carving. His story has inspired myself and many others to keep creating and working towards a dream despite limitations.”

"Im looking forward to engaging with you in the new year im so excited for the journey and making of my sons taonga for his 21st in September thank you so much."

"Approachable, focused, determined and a master in his craft, Māori Carving. I had the amazing opportunity of taking part in the opening of Tika Pono Toi, travelled from Auckland to represent the Generator and be part of the Auction team for the exhibition, we also put up our marquees to shelter attendees. The space feels homely but as you scan and look around the room you feel a sense of mana! We got to personally experience Marks story through his time with the Generator and through the lead up to the opening of Tika Pono Toi! You are awesome Mark and me and my team are so grateful to have been part of your journey, it was certainly a moment of shared joy, redemption, celebration and growth! Always cheering you on from Auckland! Love from myself Poko from Married By Poko and Big Broz Marquee and Party Hire."

"Mark is extremely professional and dedicated to his craft. He works hard and has deep whaakaro behind his work. Highly recommend."

“Kia Ora, I am so lucky and proud to have some of my artwork displayed and for sale at Tika Pono Toi Gallery. Mark is so welcoming and has a really open and special ahua.
